Summary About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at McAlester, OK and serves as the installation Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and directly supports the Information Technology (IA) policies, procedures and responsibilities of the Army Information Assurance Program for the installation. Responsibilities Install, configure and upgrade variety of network appliances and applications such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection systems, wireless intrusions detection system, web filtering devices, and other similar devices as necessary. Provide guidance and assistance in developing policy and operational procedures to enhance the security posture of McAlester Army Ammunition Plant systems and data. Enforce existing regulations and directives. Perform staff assignments related to program planning, monitoring, and/or coordination of the systems life cycle function. Perform analysis to determine root cause of vulnerabilities and best methodology to remediate identified vulnerabilities. Collect audit and usage data and prepare reports for senior management. Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (SECURITY) GS-07: Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying IT Information Assurance (IA) regulations and procedures; experience providing basic customer support to log and troubleshoot routine security vulnerabilities; and experience monitoring systems for security threats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
