Summary The Veterans Service Center Manager (VSCM) is responsible for providing information and assistance to Veterans, their dependents and survivors regarding their rights to benefits under laws and regulations administered by VA and other agencies. The VSCM provides leadership and direction to the VSC personnel and coordinates activities with other divisions in the Regional Office. Responsibilities Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the work of the Division. Revising and developing work methods to support division priorities. Ensuring proficient resource utilization and quality of work performed and services rendered; writing/establishing policies and procedures within the division. Maintaining the highest technical and professional authority to make decisions in the most complex or critical claims, or those which commit the Federal Government to unusual liability. Forecasting workload of the Division, both short and long range, so adequate funds, staffing, space, equipment, and supplies will be planned for, budgeted, and provided. Reviewing written correspondence to individuals, Congressional, White House, or other special inquiries for approval. Consulting with supervisors and union representatives/officials to discuss and resolve employee performance issues, complaints, or grievances.
