The Arizona Game and Fish Department manages fish and wildlife in Arizona and under the authority of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, creates and implements scientific methods and regulations to effectively manage fish and wildlife habitat via conservation, enforcement, hunting, fishing, watercraft and off-highway vehicle recreation, and shooting sports. Your Role in Safety & Service:

Safety First: Enforce range rules rigorously, ensuring a safe, family-friendly environment.

Customer Excellence: Interact with diverse shooters, providing courteous service at our high-volume, 67-table range.

Operational Support: Maintain the range, assist in, set up competitions, and support staff, ensuring premium conditions.

Hard Worker: Ability to work outdoors (heat, cold, wind, dust) and handle physical tasks (sweeping, cleaning).

Flexibility: Availability for a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

Valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Must legally be able to possess a firearm under 18 U.S. Code § 922(g).

Pass a pre-employment medical exam (includes blood lead/zinc, hearing test)

Job Duties:

Observes public shooting and ensures a safe and family-friendly range experience for all customers.

Provides excellent and courteous customer service. Performs daily maintenance tasks to include emptying trash cans, sweeping brass, and assisting in the care of landscape and other facility maintenance/custodial duties.

Assists range staff in set-up and preparation of the ranges, introductory shooting programs, shooting competitions, and other shooting sports activities throughout the season.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

The candidate must have exceptional customer service and communication skills and have the ability to interact and work with a diverse variety of customers, user groups, and employees. The candidate must have a safety mindset and be prepared to enforce range safety rules equally at all times.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate will have customer service experience in a high-volume, high-stress environment.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.

A level 1 fingerprint clearance card is required. Must be able to legally possess a firearm in accordance with 18 U.S. Code § 922(g). Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. Medical/Physical examination will include baseline blood lead and zinc levels and a baseline hearing test, all of which will be monitored on an annual basis.
