DEPUTY PROGRAM MANAGER (DES):
Bowhead is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the upcoming Defense Health Agency Disability Evaluation System Support Services contract in Falls Church, VA. The Deputy Program Manager will demonstrate DES experience as an MEB/PEB member, DES program manager/staff officer, or contractor supporting DoD/Military Department DES; OSD or Military Department staff-officer experience.
About this contract: The Defense Health Agency (DHA) has a requirement for services supporting DHA Medical Affairs and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Health Services and Policy Oversight (HSP&O) in their missions of policy and program development and oversight of the Disability Evaluation System (DES), the Special Compensation for Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (SCAADL), the Physical Disability Board of Review, and the Compensation and Benefits Handbook. The contract will also provide administrative and records management support to the DHA office located in Arlington, VA And Falls Church.
Responsibilities
Must be responsive, reliable, detail-oriented, and possess a strong motivation to build a productive relationship with internal and external team members.
Identify and mitigate risks, identify areas for improvement, and develop corrective action solutions that meet operational goals.
Essential functions to include - policy review, development, and integration support,
Conducting program meetings, reviews, and coordinate briefings with customers and senior management.
Briefing, reporting, and written documentation support to government personnel to prepare them for briefings.
Draft and distribute newsletters and other communication tools.
Information Technology and Information Management support.
Statistical Analysis support.
Program related qualitative and scientific studies analysis
Assist Program Manager in interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding personnel, providing team supervision, coaching/mentoring to ensure technical efforts proceed within budget/schedule and meet customer requirements.
Assist in contract management and planning, directing and monitoring program budgets, schedules and performance standards to ensure customer receives quality support.
Serve as secondary customer contact for program information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred. Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for a highly qualified candidate.
At least three (3+) years of relevant experience is required.
Lean Six Sigma certification is required.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated skills in prioritizing and multi-tasking.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
Target salary range is between $110,000 - $145,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract
