Job Description
This temporary Maintenance Engineer role focuses on supporting the build, maintenance, and modification of large custom industrial equipment. You will work hands-on with mechanical and electrical systems, interpret blueprints and schematics, and assist in panel building and assembly for complex capital equipment used by various manufacturers. A skilled maintenance technician who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new processes, and working on large machinery will thrive in this position.
Responsibilities
Work on large custom industrial equipment and capital machinery, assisting with mechanical and electrical build, maintenance, and modification.
Interpret and work from blueprints to understand machine designs and contribute to mechanical layout and assembly.
Read and apply electrical schematics to install, wire, and assemble electrical components and systems.
Support electrical panel building, including layout, wiring, and assembly of control panels and related equipment.
Use hand tools and basic power tools to perform mechanical assembly, adjustments, and repairs on equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment and assist in resolving problems in a timely manner.
Follow established processes and procedures for building and maintaining custom machinery while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Collaborate with team members to understand machine functionality and continuously improve build and maintenance processes.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, methods, and equipment specific to custom machine manufacturing.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience working with large industrial equipment or capital machinery in a maintenance, technician, or engineering capacity.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and translate designs into practical build and assembly steps.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and apply them to component installation and wiring.
Mechanical aptitude, including experience with assembly, adjustments, and repairs using hand tools and basic power tools.
Electrical skills related to panel building, wiring, and assembly of electrical components.
Strong understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles as they apply to industrial equipment.
Attention to detail and accuracy when working from technical drawings and documentation.
Willingness to learn and adapt to custom machinery, new processes, and evolving technical requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background as a maintenance technician, machine technician, or similar role working with industrial equipment.
Experience in both mechanical and electrical aspects of equipment maintenance and assembly.
Ability to understand complex mechanical processes and how different components interact within a custom machine.
Comfort working in a hands-on, shop or production environment with large equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
Self-motivated mindset with an eagerness to expand skills and take on new technical challenges.

Work Environment
This role is based in a shop or production environment where large custom presses and other capital equipment are built and maintained. You will work directly with mechanical assemblies, electrical panels, and industrial components using standard hand tools and basic power tools. The work involves standing, moving around equipment, and handling parts and tools throughout the day. Hours may follow a typical full-time schedule with some flexibility based on project needs. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
