Job Title: General Utility Worker Job Description
This role supports a high-volume food production facility by rotating through four key areas: sanitation/pack-off, packing, palletizing, and box making. You will help keep production lines running smoothly, maintain a clean and safe environment, and ensure products are properly packaged, labeled, and documented.
Responsibilities
Rotate through sanitation/pack-off, packing, palletizing, and box making areas as needed to support production.
Dispose of extra materials that will not be used and break down incoming packages and labels for proper disposal.
Sort and separate waste into trash, cardboard, and plastic to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Spray machines and containers with disinfectant and assist with sanitation activities to meet food safety standards.
Assist with preparing machine start-ups and disassembly of machines for sanitation procedures.
Place bags of finished goods into boxes and ensure products are packaged correctly.
Visually inspect finished goods for defects and remove nonconforming products from the line.
Complete necessary production and quality paperwork accurately and on time.
Visually inspect cases to ensure proper sealing and labeling before palletizing.
Operate a pallet jack safely to move finished pallets within the facility.
Assemble and disassemble machinery for sanitation and document all findings related to equipment and product quality.
Palletize finished boxes, repeatedly lifting and stacking items up to 50 lbs.
Maintain an adequate supply of boxes and labels for the production lines and ensure labeling matches the specification sheet.
Verify that boxes are free of damage and suitable for use in production.
Document the movement of finished and raw materials to support inventory and traceability requirements.
Work effectively in a refrigerated GMP food production environment while following all safety and hygiene protocols.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs continuously throughout a 10-hour shift.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow instructions, complete paperwork, and document findings.
At least 1 year of prior work history demonstrating reliability and consistent attendance.
Comfort working in a production, general production, packaging, and inspection environment.
Ability to operate a pallet jack safely and follow material handling procedures.
Attention to detail for visual inspection of finished goods, cases, labels, and boxes.
Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation procedures in a food production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in food production or meat processing environments is beneficial.
Familiarity with basic machinery assembly and disassembly for sanitation.
Comfort documenting production activities, material movement, and inspection results.
Willingness to work extended hours and overtime as needed to meet production demands.
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (approximately 30-40 degrees) for the duration of the shift.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position, typically running from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, with most Saturdays required. You can expect to work more than 50 hours per week, with a cap at 60 hours, and any hours worked over 8 per shift are paid as overtime. The role is based in a GMP food production environment where strict hygiene and safety standards apply. The production floor is fully refrigerated, maintained at approximately 30-40 degrees, and involves meat processing similar to sausage patty production. Standard attire includes an overcoat, gloves, hardhat, ear plugs, safety glasses, and knee-high non-slip rubber boots to protect you and maintain product safety. The environment is fast-paced, structured, and safety-focused, with established procedures and equipment designed for high-volume food manufacturing.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
