Water Plant Operator

The City of Cut Bank Montana is looking to hire a full-time Water Plant Operator. The Water Plant Operator will operate and maintain the water, the water pumping, water treatment plant and water distribution, takes samples, tests, and performs analysis of water and its treatment. Maintains a daily record of shift operations and performs various tasks in equipment maintenance. About the City of Cut Bank The City of Cut Bank is located just 45 minutes east of Glacier National Park. We are minutes away from world-class hunting, fishing, and hiking. Our city is growing, and we have various businesses including several restaurants, hardware store, auto parts stores and grocery stores. We also have a newly established walking trail, a recently updated dog park and a city park next to the Cut Bank Creek. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must possess the ability to: Possess a Class I Surface Water Treatment Certification Possess a CDL with appropriate endorsements Ability to read, write and follow instruction manuals Work may be performed in undesirable physical conditions of pollution, heat, cold and dampness Physical work requiring lifting of up to 75 pounds (greater with assistance), bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and getting in and out of vehicles. Exposure to chemicals, acids, and infectious wastes Work performed often requires care and use of proper safety equipment and procedures to prevent injury Qualifications: Graduation from High School or its equivalent CDL with appropriate endorsements Must have a Class I Surface Water Treatment Certification within one year of hire. May be required to obtain a Class II Water Distribution Certification Prior Work experience with a water and wastewater system desirable. Good understanding of mechanical operations of pumps and plumbing techniques. Shifts: 40 hours a week - days will vary Wages: $26.27/hr starting Benefits: Benefits include retirement, health insurance, paid holidays, paid vacations, and sick leave.
