Responsibilities You will develop and maintain cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy for multiple major components to support and align with cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory compliance. You will assess policy needs and collaborate with stakeholders to develop policies to govern cyber activities. You will monitor the rigorous application of cyber policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of planning and management services for multiple major USMC components to support and align with the USMC cybersecurity initiatives. You will review or conduct audits of USMC wide cyber programs and/or major multi-phase cyber projects involving substantive, mission-oriented programs. You will promote awareness of cyber policy and strategy as appropriate among management and ensure sound principles are reflected in the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and executing cybersecurity risk and vulnerability assessments, systems security evaluations, audits, OR reviews of enterprise networks/information technology/operational technology systems (IT/OTs) for a large-scale organization; Planning and conducting security controls assessments and related security authorization reviews of networks, facilities, systems, OR applications; AND conducting analysis and development of cybersecurity, cyber defense, OR defense policies. In addition to specialized experience, you must also meet the following competencies; Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performing tasks with a high level of thoroughness. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying a client or customer need and providing a quality product or service. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoW direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
