Summary This position is in the Environmental Management Section (EMS), in the Facility Management Service at Orlando VA Medical Center and its satellite clinics, in Orlando, Florida. The Program Support Assistant manages programs and procedures and monitors these programs and procedures to assure quality improvement and desired results are obtained throughout Facilities Management. Establishes priorities on verbal and written communications requests from various Veterans Affairs offices and private healthcare facilities. Serves as record manager and custodial officer for training program, trainees data files and Specialty faculty and staff as needed. Maintains and updates all EMS regulations, polices, instructions, standing memorandums, and guidelines pertaining to JCAHO, OSHA, EPA, PA DEP, VACO Environmental Management Technical Procedures for Housekeeping, Waste Management, Linen/Laundry Services, and Pest Control. Provides guidance to residents related to program policies and procedures. Process 2237s in Vista to request for materials and equipment turn-ins, assisting in completing inventory of equipment utilizing (Equipment Inventory List) EIL. Provides oversight to ensure timekeeping is maintained in EMS according to guidelines and ensures timely submission of timecards. Assists EMS staff with a full range of human resources requirements including assisting Supervisors with projecting staffing needs, writing position descriptions, developing job reviews, preparing performance appraisals and competencies, and drafting disciplinary and adverse actions. Prepares Purchase Requests, Equipment Orders as required. Collects data for Statement of Work (SOW) justifications. As FCP Clerk for the program, is responsible to regularly review transactions to identify any potential shortage or surplus of funds.
