Position Summary
Project Operations Solutions (POS) defines and governs how Building Lifecycle Solutions operates across Southland, ensuring that solution capabilities are aligned, connected, and scalable throughout the company.
As the Director of AEC Technologies, you will lead the managers and senior managers responsible for Preconstruction Solutions, Supply Chain Solutions, Design Solutions, Manufacturing Solutions, Construction Solutions, and BLS Operations. Your focus is to ensure these areas operate as a cohesive system, with clear standards, aligned priorities, and consistent ways of working.
This role is responsible for how solutions are structured, delivered, supported, and improved. The emphasis is on creating a connected operating model that enables teams to work effectively across the building lifecycle, reduces fragmentation, and supports scalable execution across regions and divisions.
Position Details
Relationship Building/Management
Build strong relationships with divisional leadership, VDC production teams, IT, and executive stakeholders.
Serve as the primary leader for Project Operations Solutions across the organization.
Align solution leaders to ensure consistent direction, priorities, and execution.
Partner with VDC Production leadership to ensure solutions remain aligned with how work is performed in the field and across construction projects.
Mentor and develop Managers and Senior Managers, building a strong and consistent leadership layer that supports scalable growth across Project Operations Solutions.
Workflow Optimization
Define how solution areas work together across the building lifecycle, including preconstruction, supply chain, design, manufacturing, and construction.
Establish clear handoffs, ownership boundaries, and coordination across all solution areas.
Identify gaps between teams and implement improvements that simplify execution across functions.
Reduce fragmentation by establishing repeatable workflows that scale across divisions.
Ensure solutions support real-world execution by aligning workflows with production needs.
Technology Deployment
Drive alignment of tools and platforms across all solution areas.
Guide solution leaders in deploying technologies in a consistent and scalable way.
Ensure systems support integrated workflows rather than isolated use cases.
Partner with IT leadership to align solutions with enterprise architecture, integration, and long-term strategy.
Change Management
Lead enterprise-level rollout of tools, processes, and operating models across solution areas.
Drive consistent implementation across regions, divisions, and teams.
Align stakeholders on what is changing, why it matters, and how it will be supported.
Ensure adoption strategies reflect how teams operate in both field and design environments.
Ensure solutions are actively adopted and integrated into how teams operate, not just deployed.
Support and Documentation
Ensure BLS Operations provides a consistent and scalable support model for all solution areas.
Leverage BLS Operations as the central system for support, insights, and continuous improvement.
Align support processes, knowledge management, and documentation across systems and teams.
Maintain a clear connection between user feedback, support demand, and solution improvements.
Ensure services are reliable, predictable, and meet defined expectations.
Strategic Planning & Governance
Define and maintain the operating model for Project Operations Solutions.
Define how work is requested, prioritized, and delivered, ensuring a clear and consistent service model.
Establish intake, prioritization, and escalation structures that allow teams to operate effectively at scale.
Set and manage priorities, balancing near-term needs with long-term strategy and scalability.
Balance capacity and resource allocation across solution areas to align effort with business priorities.
Establish standards that ensure consistency across tools, processes, data, and workflows.
Guide investment decisions and roadmap direction based on business needs and performance insights.
Lead annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting, aligning investments with operational needs and long-term strategy.
Guide multi-year investment planning and capacity forecasting to ensure Project Operations Solutions scales effectively with organizational growth.
Define clear service boundaries to ensure teams remain focused, scalable, and aligned with priorities.
Resolve cross-domain conflicts related to priorities, workflows, and resource allocation to maintain alignment and progress.
Evolve the operating model to support organizational growth, new regions, and increasing complexity.
Monitor industry trends and emerging practices to ensure Project Operations Solutions remains aligned with best-in-class approaches.
Use operational data, adoption metrics, and user feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Communicate the performance, value, and direction of Project Operations Solutions to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Ensure Project Operations Solutions provides a reliable, connected, and scalable foundation for how work is performed across the company.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience managing multiple functions or solution areas in a complex organization.
Strong understanding of construction workflows across preconstruction, design, fabrication, supply chain, and field execution.
Experience defining and implementing operating models across distributed teams.
Ability to align teams, systems, and processes without direct ownership of production outcomes.
Strong communication and influence skills with the ability to engage executive, operational, and technical stakeholders.
Experience working with enterprise platforms, solution teams, and IT organizations.
Ability to prioritize competing needs and guide decisions that balance short-term execution with long-term scalability.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (California/Washington/Maryland/Virginia) this ranges from $176,000.00 - $276,500.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
