Position Overview

Melcar, Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and motivated Jack & Bore Laborer to join our growing trenchless

operations team. This is a dynamic, field-based role offering hands-on experience and excellent

career stability on regional underground infrastructure projects.

As a vital member of our field crew, you will work alongside experienced specialists to safely and

efficiently execute trenchless construction projects. You will be responsible for essential on-site tasks,

helping to operate specialized equipment, prepare job sites, and maintain field safety standards. At

Key Requirements & Capabilities

. Industry Experience: Previous experience in underground construction, utility installation, or

general excavation.

. Trenchless Familiarity: Prior exposure to jack and bore, auger boring, or directional drilling

operations is highly preferred.

. Safety Mindset: A proven commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following

strict safety protocols.

. Technical Aptitude: Basic mechanical skills or a strong willingness to learn advanced

welding, pipe-fusion, and equipment maintenance techniques.

. Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform physical field labor, work outdoors in various

weather conditions, and handle site preparation tasks.

. Site Awareness: Basic knowledge of excavation safety, trench shoring, and dewatering

techniques.

. Team Collaboration: Strong work ethic with the ability to follow directions from the Foreman

and work well within a crew.

Compensation & Benefits

Melcar, Ltd. employs a diverse, skilled labor force consisting of both union and non-union team

members. Because this is a supervisory role, this position is open to both Union and Non-Union

(Salaried) candidates. We offer an exceptional compensation package tailored to your employment status.

Union Candidates

. Competitive Pay: Local hourly rate based on union jurisdiction.

. Travel Support: Reliable field lodging arrangements provided for out-of-town project assignments, including per diem for every day worked.

Non-Union Candidates

. Competitive Hourly Pay: Highly competitive base hourly rates commensurate with your field experience.

. Overtime Opportunities: Reliable opportunities for overtime pay on regional infrastructure projects.

. Travel Support: Reliable field lodging arrangements provided for out-of-town project assignments, including per diem for every day worked.

. Comprehensive Health Insurance:

Silver Tier Plan: Melcar covers 100% of the employee's monthly premium, and 30% of the premium for any dependents.

Gold Tier Plan: Melcar covers 70% of the employee's monthly premium, and 30% of the premium for any dependents.

. Dental & Vision Plans: Melcar covers 100% of the employee's monthly premium, and 50% of the premium for any dependents.

. 401(k) Retirement Match: Generous company match featuring 100% match up to the first 3%, plus a 50% match on deferrals between 3% and 5%.
