This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). The MNIT MDH team provides services for over 250+ applications and delivers the information technology to drive one of the leading public health systems in the nation. You will support an agency that works to protect, maintain, and improve the health of all Minnesotans.
As a Software Coordinator, you will implement centralized Information and Technology (IT) Hardware and Software Procurement, Asset Management, Inventory and License Control processes and procedures for the Minnesota Department of Health and MNIT Services.
This position requires an employee to work onsite at 625 Robert Street N. St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% [or more or less if space limitations remain] of the time, with limited telework available. Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligibility depends on residence:
Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.
Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT-related experience in software licensing, asset management, IT procurement, or financial/budget analysis
Experience must include:
Experience performing IT procurement activities, including purchasing software, hardware, services, or related technology products.
Experience interpreting and applying IT policies, procedures, standards, or licensing requirements.
Experience with IT purchasing and financial management processes, including vendor quotes, purchase requests, invoices, and procurement systems.
Experience with data management and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Excel or Power BI.
Experience coordinating IT activities across multiple teams, including software deployments, purchases, renewals, upgrades, and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or an IT field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing enterprise software applications, software licensing, IT assets, or software deployment processes.
Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Power BI, or other enterprise IT management tools.
Knowledge of information security, software compliance, accessibility standards, and enterprise IT policies
