Job Title: Material Handler - 1st Shift
Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a variety of warehousing duties, including operating material handling equipment, accurately picking and kitting parts, forklift operating and supporting shipping and receiving activities in a clean, modern facility. This role helps ensure products move efficiently through the warehouse while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and organization.
Responsibilities
Perform general warehousing duties to support daily shipping and receiving operations.
Operate forklifts and cherry pickers safely to move, load, and unload materials as needed.
Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to transport products within the facility.
Pick and pull orders accurately according to work orders, pick lists, or system instructions.
Kit parts and components according to specifications to prepare them for production or shipment.
Package materials and products securely to prevent damage during transport.
Support shipping activities by preparing orders for shipment and staging them in designated areas.
Assist with receiving activities by unloading, checking, and organizing incoming materials.
Use RF scanners to locate, track, and update inventory in the warehouse management system.
Perform data entry in computer systems to maintain accurate inventory and order records.
Follow inventory control procedures to ensure correct counts, locations, and documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety guidelines.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.
Essential Skills
Previous forklift operation experience.
Previous warehousing experience in a shipping, receiving, or general warehouse role.
Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing.
Ability to use computer systems for data entry and basic warehouse transactions.
Experience performing general warehousing duties such as picking, packing, and material handling.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
Attention to detail and accuracy when picking, kitting, and packaging orders.
Commitment to working safely in a warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with inventory control processes and cycle counting.
Background in order selection and packaging in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with using RF scanners in a state-of-the-art warehouse facility.
Comfort working with interesting and specialized products.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks during a shift.

Work Environment
The role operates in a close-to-brand-new, state-of-the-art facility that is clean, bright, and safety-focused. The environment is temperate controlled at approximately 68 degrees with around 30% humidity, providing a comfortable and consistent climate throughout the year. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, with core hours from 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Team members use forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and computer systems as part of their daily work in a modern, organized warehouse setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Appleton, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.55/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
