Accounting Manager

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
10+ years of accounting experience in commercial and/or government contracting environments
Experience managing multiple accounting and finance functions or departments
Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
Experience with fixed-price, cost-plus, and percentage-of-completion (POC) contracts
Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams
What You'll Do
Lead Financial Accounting Services and Systems, including contract accounting, accounts payable, cash management, fixed assets, and travel & expense accounting
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting leaders and teams while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture
Oversee month-end close activities, account reconciliations, consolidations, financial reporting, balance sheets, and P&L analysis
Partner with business leaders throughout the capture and contract award process to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition outcomes
Ensure compliance with ASC 606, US GAAP, and government contracting accounting requirements
Analyze financial performance, monitor variances, and collaborate closely with FP&A to support business objectives
Oversee cash management, forecasting, working capital, receivables, payables, inventory, and borrowing activities
Review contracts and proposals to evaluate accounting treatment, financial risks, and cash flow considerations
Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Drive automation, process improvement, and change management initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Resolve complex accounting and operational issues while implementing effective corrective actions
Support internal and external audits and partner with compliance and risk teams to ensure audit readiness
Establish and monitor KPIs that support operational excellence and informed decision-making
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on accounting, compliance, and financial matters

This is a Permanent position based out of Poway, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $174000.00 - $195000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
