Summary You will serve as a COMBINED TRADES SUPERVISOR II in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (CODE 900) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as the final on-site authority for resolving complex technical problems and integration conflicts. You will exercise second-level, delegated authority for all personnel and administrative functions. You will provide authoritative information and advice to higher-level supervisors and management officials on the feasibility of work assignments, workload data, and budget estimates. You will maintain balanced workloads by directing the shifting of assignments and resources between subordinates. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: Experience utilizing knowledge of technical, nuclear, quality, and safety programs and requirements to manage assigned projects. Experience planning, directing, and coordinating the work of subordinate supervisors. Experience resolving complex technical problems and integration of conflicts. Experience developing and executing short- and long-range work plans. Experience determining resources, materials, equipment, and skilled personnel required to accomplish work.
