7-Eleven is looking for a Software Engineer to join a team of multidisciplinary engineers who create and support applications for 7-Eleven customers. The individual can be assigned project work, Production Support responsibilities and performing duties such as patching servers to address vulnerability risks and threats to our software and systems. This role will cover multiple disciplinary duties and require flexibility with changing priorities of work, based on company needs.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Experience working for large scale enterprise applications.

Identify Issue patterns.

Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing data/application/interfaces.

Assist during support hours of operation and during off hours for production emergencies.

Respond to and act on Alerts within SLA

Perform level of effort estimates for assigned tasks and change orders.

Identify root causes for technical issues in production.

Develop code updates to fix reported defects.

Follow the production support best practices.

Comfortable with handling night alerts in shifts

Key role in maintaining the stability and performance of applications, while also leveraging your backend development skills to enhance and optimize these systems.

Collaborate closely with backend development teams to diagnose and address application defects and performance bottlenecks.

Monitor application health, performance, and availability, taking proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.

Document support procedures, best practices, and incident resolutions.

Ability to install application certificates on servers as well as install patches to address any critical vulnerabilities identified by the security team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 4+ years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Ability to multitask working multiple issues at one time.

Desired 2-4 years of hands-on programming / Scripting experience

Familiar with AI development tools

Familiarity with APIs / Server-side development experience using microservices architecture

Strong experience in supporting applications in a production environment.

Exposure to any scripting language for automation and support tasks

Solid understanding of application servers, databases, and backend technologies

Knowledge of incident management, problem resolution, and ITIL processes is a plus.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Nagios, or ELK

Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Willingness to participate in an On-Call rotation.

Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS and Azure

Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Experience in developing NoSQL and SQL databases, designing data models, proficient in querying data for quality, analysis, analytics, and ad hoc reporting is preferred.

Knowledge in API security frameworks, token management and user access control including OAuth, JWT, Open API, etc.

Ability to work in an Agile / SCRUM environment.

Pay: $49,500.00 -$97,250.00 Annual
