General Summary

Operate sanitation vehicle in the collection, hauling and disposal of refuse; and assist in the coordination of the collection schedule.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of refuse as assigned.

Maintain cleanliness of work, storage, and pick up areas and all vehicles and equipment used in the performance of duties.

Perform as a Groundsperson and Special Project Crewperson as assigned.

Operate sanitation vehicle equipped with hydraulic lifting and packing devices.

Maintain and perform minor service and repairs on vehicles and equipment.

Report any damage, malfunction, irregularities and/or potential hazards in building, grounds, equipment, vehicles or supplies to supervisor.

Assist in coordinating collection schedule.

Perform related Departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, interpret, and act upon written and/or oral communication is necessary.

One year of heavy truck driving experience is necessary.

Ability to meet Departmental standards of reasonable personal hygiene is necessary.

A good driving record is required.

Ability to perform physically active work of a heavy nature, requiring frequent walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching activity to collect and dispose of refuse; and frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to 50 pounds of force is necessary.

Salary: FM 14 = $21.77 an hour/$45,282 annually

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Location: Main Campus

Appointment Percentage:

100%
