Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role focuses on accurately selecting customer orders, building pallets, and preparing products for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will begin working in dry storage and, over time, take on responsibilities in cold storage and freezer areas while operating warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Select customer orders using RF scanners or pick sheets with a high level of accuracy.
Accurately pick products and build stable pallets for outbound shipments.
Operate electric pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Verify product quantities against order requirements and inspect items for quality and damage before staging.
Wrap, label, and stage pallets for loading according to warehouse procedures.
Follow all food safety guidelines, warehouse safety protocols, and company procedures at all times.
Maintain productivity and accuracy goals while working in a fast-paced environment.
Transition from dry storage to working in cold storage and freezer areas as needed.
Support general warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, and organizing inventory as required.
Work a shift that starts at 1:00 p.m. and continue until all orders are picked, including some Sunday work when needed.
Essential Skills
Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, or order selecting environment is preferred.
Experience operating an electric pallet jack, forklift, or similar warehouse equipment is a plus.
Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other warehouse tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the entire shift.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, productivity-driven environment.
Basic familiarity with RF scanners or order picking systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior order picker or general labor experience in a warehouse setting.
Experience working in dry, cold, or freezer storage environments.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order selection and pallet building.
Ability to adapt to working in different temperature zones within the warehouse.
Reliability and flexibility to work until all orders are completed, including some Sundays.

Work Environment
The role is based in a warehouse environment that includes dry storage, cold storage, and freezer storage areas. You will start in dry storage and eventually work in colder and freezer conditions as needed. The shift begins at 1:00 p.m. and continues until all orders are picked, with a target of approximately eight hours per day and the expectation of some Sunday work. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring regular lifting, standing, walking, bending, and operating electric pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment across varying temperature zones.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northfield, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
