Job Description
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor oversees all production activities during the evening shift in a fast-paced HVAC and Chiller Unit manufacturing environment. This hands-on leader manages a team of production workers, ensures adherence to production schedules, and maintains high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The role requires strong supervision, ideally HVAC and/or sheet metal production knowledge, and the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team while driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
Oversee all production activities during the 2nd shift to ensure on-time completion of work orders and adherence to production schedules.
Lead, direct, and support a team of 30 - 40 production workers, providing clear instructions, guidance, and feedback throughout the shift.
Monitor daily production output to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy meet or exceed established standards.
Enforce and promote safety practices, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Identify production issues, troubleshoot problems, and make timely decisions to prevent delays and minimize downtime.
Coordinate workflow across machines and assembly areas to optimize productivity and resource utilization.
Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency in HVAC and sheet metal production.
Ensure proper use and care of equipment and machinery within the warehouse and assembly areas.
Communicate effectively with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent production processes.
Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to build a positive, high-performing culture on the 2nd shift.
Maintain accurate shift-related documentation and reports as required by production management.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production environment.
n HVAC manufacturing or sheet metal production (preferred).
Demonstrated safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address production issues and prevent delays.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse production team in a fast-paced setting.
Experience with production management and production supervision practices.
Ability to support and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Effective communication and decision-making skills, especially under time-sensitive conditions.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, climate-controlled warehouse with windows and high ceilings, housing both machines and assembly areas in a brand-new facility. The team operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, working in a small, close-knit group where leadership treats everyone like family. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
