How you make a difference

The Regional Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing comprehensivetraining programs for nursing staff, with a focus on ensuring competence and proficiency in caring for adultswith serious and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical problems. Thisincludes designing and delivering training sessions, evaluating training effectiveness, and providing ongoingsupport and education to nursing staff tomeet the unique needs of the patient population served. TheRegional Nurse Educator also collaborates with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensurethat nursing staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver high-quality care in acompassionate and patient-centered manner.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive educational programs for nursing staff, includingorientation, ongoing curriculum needs, recertification, and continuing education programs to enhanceand maintain knowledge and competencies.

Ensure all nursing education programs comply with current regulatory requirements and areevidence-based.

Monitor nursing staff progress in meeting educational goals, maintain training database, and assess and document staff competencies during orientation and annually.

Collaborate with nursing school programs in the community to provide clinical practice development and placement opportunities for students, including orientation and mentoring during clinical rotations.

Provide oversight and supervision to Regional Compliance and Accreditation Monitor, assume role of ERMA Committee chairman, and conduct ERMA Super User Trainings and monthly CPR trainings for all employees, while also providing one-on-one training for medical and mental health personnel as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field.

Experience

A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in psychiatric mental health nursing is required, preferably with an additional two (2) years of educator experience.

Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

Experience in Performance Improvement preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Must hold a current license as a registered nurse in state of employment.
