THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role provides electrical instruction and oversees daily training that strengthens both safety and skill development. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
Electrical Instruction: Teach electrical trade practices in both classroom and on-the-job settings
Training Oversight: Guide inmate work crews and monitor progress, attendance, and daily assignments
Work Inspection: Review completed electrical work to ensure safety, accuracy, and proper technique
Tool Management: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials needed for training and work assignments
Material Planning: Identify required materials and submit purchase requests to support electrical projects

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings;or
Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
