Veeco continues to grow and is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our Software Engineering team. If you have a passion for programming, particularly with state-of-the-art electro/mechanical systems, this is the technical team you want to be part of!RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and controls engineers to develop and integrate new features and system capabilities. Analyze software and system requirements to determine feasibility, performance, and design approach within project constraints. Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and system integration issues in both development and customer environments. Provide design and architectural solutions for new features and system enhancements. Support field issue investigations and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions. Optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability in complex equipment environments. Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve project objectives. Work within an Agile/SCRUM development environment utilizing modern software development tools and practices. Must be able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field and 5+ years of professional experience, or a Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience. Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware components, including sensors, motion control systems, instrumentation, and electromechanical devices. Experience with design, develop, debug, test, and maintain C++ software for advanced semiconductor manufacturing and capital equipment systems. Strong experience developing software applications using C++. Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA). Experience developing software for hardware-integrated systems, capital equipment, industrial automation, robotics, instrumentation, or other complex electromechanical systems. Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software and hardware interactions. * Experience worki
