Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role operates within a busy distribution center and focuses on safely moving pallets, handling materials, and supporting daily warehouse operations. You will use forklifts and RF scanners to manage inventory, pick and pack orders, and ensure products are accurately prepared for shipment.
Responsibilities
Move pallets and materials throughout the distribution center using sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, and organizing products and materials.
Pick orders accurately using RF scanners and follow established procedures for inventory control.
Pack and package products according to company standards to ensure items are secure and ready for shipment.
Handle materials safely and efficiently, maintaining clean and organized work areas.
Support inventory activities such as counting, labeling, and tracking stock in designated locations.
Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures while operating warehouse equipment.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and quality goals.
Essential Skills
Experience operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials.
Proficiency using RF scanners for picking and inventory activities.
Knowledge of basic packing and packaging procedures for outbound shipments.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and inventory handling.
Ability to follow safety protocols and equipment operation guidelines.
Capability to work in a fast-paced warehouse setting and meet productivity expectations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a distribution center or similar warehouse environment.
Comfort working with palletized freight and material handling equipment.
Willingness to learn and obtain certification on stand-up forklift equipment.
Reliable work habits and the ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.

Work Environment
The role is based in a modern distribution center that is newly opened and still undergoing improvements, but fully operational. You will work around palletized freight and use warehouse technologies such as RF scanners and both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. The environment is active and physical, requiring time on your feet and regular movement of materials. Standard warehouse attire is expected, with appropriate safety gear and adherence to all facility safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glenview, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
