The ideal candidate possessesdirect experience working with import documentation, interacting with customsbrokers/carriers, and understands the core mechanics of U.S. Customs andPartner Government Agency (PGA) compliance. EssentialDuties & Responsibilities Prepare and processimport customs entries accurately and in a timely manner through CBPsystems. Handle a wide range ofentry @types, including consumption, transportation, warehouse, temporaryimport, and PGA-regulated shipments. Review commercialinvoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other import documentationto ensure absolute compliance and accuracy. Classify complexproducts utilizing the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). Coordinate closely withU.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and various Partner GovernmentAgencies (such as FDA, EPA, FCC, DOT, USDA, and others as required). Monitor shipmentreleases, examinations, holds, and official requests for information. Communicate proactivelyand professionally with customers regarding shipment status, documentationrequirements, and regulatory updates. Maintain strictcompliance with all federal regulations, customs laws, and establishedcompany procedures. Work collaborativelywith operations teams, carriers, terminals, and government entities toensure smooth, efficient cargo movement. Identify, document, andescalate potential compliance concerns when necessary. Maintain highlyorganized and accurate records in accordance with both regulatorystandards and company policies. Qualifications 2-4years of hands-on experience in Import Operations, Brokerage Support,Logistics Coordination, or Entry Writing. Candidates with a strongoperational background handling import documents and broker communicationwho are looking to step into entry writing are strongly encouraged toapply. Provenexpertise handling core import paperwork (Commercial Invoices, PackingLists, House/Master Bills of Lading, Pre-alerts). Practicalfamiliarity with U.S. Customs procedures, basic HTS classificationconcepts, and awareness of CBP/PGA clearance requirements. Experienceworking within standard industry logistics software/tracking platforms(e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, ACE) and general Microsoft Office proficiency(Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiaritywith air/ocean import movement and local JFK airport or NY/NJ portrecovery workflows. Highattention to detail, strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast-pacedenvironment, and clear written/verbal communication skills. Highschool diploma or equivalent required. PreferredQualifications Priordirect experience drafting or submitting entry summaries as an EntryWriter or Customs Brokerage Specialist. CertifiedCustoms Specialist (CCS) designation or progress toward certification. ActiveU.S. Customs Broker License (LCB). Advancedproficiency in CargoWise.The base pay range listed reflects what we reaso
