Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
The Warehouse Worker receives, stores, organizes, and issues materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This role ensures accurate inventory control, safe handling of goods, and efficient movement of products to support smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming stock items and accurately count quantities, recording data manually or using computer systems.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Verify inventory records by comparing system data to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors as needed.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas.
Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure clear and accurate identification.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
Keep detailed records on the use and damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects and promptly report any damage to supervisors.
Provide assistance, guidance, or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers as needed.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock locations based on turnover, environmental factors, and the physical capabilities of facilities.
Support packing, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Essential Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills to document inventory and interact with team members.
Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and storage issues.
Ability to work effectively as a team player while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant warehouse equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies related to security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
Proficiency in packing, shipping, and receiving processes.
Ability to use computer systems or handheld devices for inventory data entry and recordkeeping.
Capability to organize and store materials in an efficient, logical, and accessible manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
5-7 years of experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, or similar materials handling environment.
Experience maintaining clean and safe storage areas in compliance with safety regulations.
Familiarity with labeling tools such as identification tags, stamps, and electric marking tools.
Experience assisting and coordinating with other warehouse or stockroom workers.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard setting where you handle, move, and organize various materials and equipment. You work Monday through Friday on an 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. shift, supporting packing, shipping, and receiving activities. The environment requires adherence to safety regulations, regular cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and storage areas, and careful use of labeling and marking equipment. Work is primarily on-site in a physical setting that involves standing, walking, and handling stock items throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
