Description
The Transfusion Medicine Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist monitors the day-to-day operations of the Transfusion Service Section of the Transfusion Medicine Division; ensures that all procedures are performed as defined in the section policy and procedure manuals as approved by the Transfusion Medicine Medical Director; oversees all Transfusion Service Clinical Laboratory Scientists, students and ancillary personnel within the department; performs all duties of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. The Lead CLS acts as the supervisor of the department in the absence of the Transfusion Medicine Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree related health science field.

upon hire: California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License, or

upon hire: California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License, or
upon hire: California Clinical Hematology Scientist License, or
upon hire: California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License, or
upon hire: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Biochemistry Special License
1 year experience in a hospital laboratory in area of responsibility.
4 years must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel, moderate to high complexity tests: experience in respective specialty.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Sunquest Information System.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
