Title: Strategic Programs and Engagement Coordinator Agency:Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) Location: One Ashburton Place, Rm 1410, MA 02108 Position Type:Full-Time, Hybrid Position Summary The Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), within the Executive Office for Administration and Finance, supports diverse and small businesses across the Commonwealth and the United States. The SDO seeks a detail-oriented professional to serve as a Strategic Programs and Engagement Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Programs and Engagement, this role supports the Unit and Agency by implementing strategic initiatives and engagement efforts to advance SDO Programs. The Coordinator will executeand evaluate success of specific plans and strategies to maximize Unit and Agency priorities. Outreach/engagement campaigns and initiatives executed by the Coordinator will advance SDO programming as administrative need arises, such as our Empowering Abilities in Contracting and Employment (EACE) Program, Municipal Construction Affirmative Marketing Program/Veteran Business Program (Construction Programs/MCAMP/VPB), SDO Certification, and events. The Coordinator also attends events and meetings to represent the SDO, conducts follow-up one-on-one sessions as appropriate, and may schedule meetings, presentations, and plan events in furtherance of strategic initiatives on occasion.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to delivering efficient, accurate, and effective service to SDO's constituents. Duties & Responsibilities Execute strategic engagement efforts with other team members for improvement and increased engagement in SDO programs such as construction programs, Supplier Diversity Program (SDP), EACE, and specific Certification recruitment. On occasion, organize, plan, and execute SDO events, collaborating with resource organizations, stakeholders, or other partners as appropriate. Maintain program records, databases, reports, and tracking systems as needed for initiatives, such as the SDO Hub system. Support coordination, education, and communications among SDO initiatives, which may change as agency need arises. Manage timelines and stakeholder communications. Follow-up to customer service interactions as needed to provide resources and support to constituents. Coordination and assistance for changing Programs and Engagement strategic efforts and goals, such as data collection for reports or initiatives. Assist with updating and/or initiating policies, procedures, guidance documents, and best practices. Capacity building knowledge. Develop and execute initiatives and/or program engagements that meet the changing needs of diverse vendors and other stakeholders. Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and summaries for leadership that show efforts and results. Coordinate and attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops as needed. Lead initiatives to assist SDO systems registrations and active users. Assist with the development of goods and services, construction, or other program resources and collateral as needed for initiatives (such as PowerPoint presentations, FAQs and job aids). Other duties as assigned, team member receives from the Director of Programs and Engagement and, as needed, the SDO's Executive Director. Provides clear, professional, and timely information to SDO constituents. Minimum Qualifications Preferred at Hire Ability to strategize, plan, and execute outreach and engagement initiatives for targeted audiences and/or program goals. High level of comfort with existing and ability to learn new software and IT systems to facilitate project and program implementation, reporting and engagement. Some experience planning and coordinating events. Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Being extremely organized and highly motivated. Salary placement is determined on an individual basis and is based on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) collective bargaining agreement, the Human Resources Division (HRD) Hiring Guidelines, and the agency's budget and available funding. Salary: This position is classified as Grade 12 under NAGE, Bargaining Unit 6 salary schedule. The current biweekly salary range for Grade 12 is $2,831.38 (Step 1) to $4,092.37 (Step 14). New hires are appointed to a step within the grade based on the factors outlined above. Employees who remain in good standing are eligible for step increases in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement until they reach the maximum step for the grade. Knowledge of the Commonwealth's own supplier diversity and affirmative marketing programs. Knowledge of supplier diversity certification eligibility standards and requirements for various certifications, such as the SDO's own programming, municipal certifications and/or federal certifications. Knowledge of municipal small and diverse business programs in the Commonwealth. Knowledge of other small business support programs and resources, such as the U.S. Small Business Administration, and non-profit organizations serving the small and diverse business communities. Experience guiding applicants through processes and reviewing documentation. Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and/or familiarity with Commonwealth systems. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience. II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience. III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
