OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This position serves as the Program Manager, Land Manager, and Grants Manager for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - West Bank and its three member districts: the West Jefferson Levee District, the Algiers Levee District, and the Lafitte Area Levee District. The position will work closely with the Authority General Counsel to manage all Land Rights and Litigation activities, as well as legislative activities that may impact the Authority. This position will also manage all grants for the Authority, producing application and tracking documents and securing funding appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Acts as liaison with the State Land Office and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority concerning land rights associated with Flood Protection alignments as well as oil/mineral leasing of member district property.
May represent the Division on interagency steering committees, special task forces, or attendance at conferences, workshops, meetings, or public hearings.
Oversees the development and maintenance of complex GIS mapping systems having to do with land or rights-of-way acquisition and mineral lease activities, including the Authority's Asset Tracker system.
Tracks all Contracts and Agreements and ensures that they are updated as necessary to meet the Authority's needs.
Prepares state budget recommendations and reviews budget requests for federal and state grants, professional and other contractual services
Performs research and generates reports of same for review by Authority Counsel and Director on critical statutory provisions for the Authority's function.
Searches, examines, and collects authorities on points of law in connection with the preparation of cases for trial.

Appointment Type: Probational - Up to 24 months
Career Progression:This position is not part of a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
