The Strategic Mechanical Engineer position is based out of our Clinton Clean Energy Center in Clinton, IL.

Expected salary range of $102,600 to $114,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks, under general supervision, in support of nuclear plant operations.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

Perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles

Assure all engineering products prepared are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, engineering specifications and all regulatory requirements.

Participate in the development and implementation of effective processes and techniques at appropriate levels of detail and in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Recommend format and methodology improvements to standard processes and procedures.

Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) with 3 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience

Must meet additional requirements as outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.3.4) Standard, "Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants".

Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in asset reliability, life-cycle management, equipment aging, and risk-informed decision making.

Experience performing economic evaluations, business case development, and capital investment analyses (e.g., DCF, NPV, IRR).

Experience utilizing engineering analytics, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools.

Experience leading complex cross-functional projects involving Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Business Operations organizations.

Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action programs, performance improvement initiatives, and operating experience application.

Advanced degree

Professional Engineer (PE) license

PMP Certification
