Description

We are looking for a highly organized Case Assistant to support civil litigation matters for a legal team in Walnut Creek, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can keep case materials accurate, move work forward under tight deadlines, and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court contacts. The person in this role will help maintain case documentation, contribute to legal research and drafting, and assist with filings and trial preparation in a fast-paced, fully-remote environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and organize litigation files so records, correspondence, and supporting documents remain current and easy to retrieve.

Perform legal and case-related research to help attorneys prepare for hearings, motions, and other proceedings.

Support the creation and revision of legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and related case materials.

Coordinate schedules and communications with clients, witnesses, attorneys, and court personnel for meetings, appearances, and deadlines.

Assemble exhibits, binders, and other trial preparation materials needed for court proceedings and case presentations.

Manage electronic document systems, including scanning, storing, and tracking confidential case records with accuracy.

Monitor filing timelines and assist with preparing materials for submission to various courts in compliance with procedural requirements.

Provide administrative and documentation support to the legal team to ensure case activity is handled efficiently and deadlines are met.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree required.

At least 1 year of experience in a legal environment, with civil litigation exposure preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage case documentation, confidential records, and file organization with strong attention to detail.

Proficiency with legal research methods and standard business software, including Microsoft Office applications.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to balance multiple priorities, work independently when needed, and collaborate effectively with a team.

Reliable time-management skills and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
