We're seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead a high-performing accounting team while overseeing financial operations, month-end close, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting. What You'll Do
As the Accounting Supervisor, you'll oversee daily accounting operations while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the organization's financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable personnel.
Manage daily accounting operations and maintain the accuracy of the General Ledger.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
Ensure all balance sheet and bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
Oversee vendor management and payment processes to ensure compliance with company policies.
Maintain compliance with state and local tax regulations, including sales, use, and property taxes.
Assist with annual financial statement audits and provide supporting schedules and documentation.
Support the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, internal controls, and accounting policies.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.
Participate in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management activities.
Foster strong working relationships across departments and provide financial support as needed.
Required QualificationsMust-Have Experience
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
2+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience
Strong General Ledger accounting experience
High-volume account reconciliation experience (bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations)
Strong working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
Strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge.
Experience with financial reporting, account analysis, and journal entries.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting external audits.
Budget preparation and financial planning experience.
Experience maintaining and strengthening internal controls.
Multi-entity, multi-location, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or service-industry accounting experience.
Experience identifying process improvements and accounting efficiencies.
Advanced ERP or accounting system experience.
