Description
To close first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws as well as Navy Federal policies and procedures.
Prepare mortgage packages for delivery to settlement companies for purposes of closing on conventional, Veteran's Administration (VA), Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage products, and equity loans.
To coordinate the closing and funding of assigned loan packages.
Responsibilities
Authorize release of closing packages to closing agent, if applicable - Under minimal supervision
Determine amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, request and process internal payoffs and preparerequest for loan disbursement
Determine status of title and review mortgagees, mortgagors, manner of title and existing/proposed liensfor accuracy
Ensure credit, underwriting and property conditions have been satisfied prior to closing
Evaluate title exceptions and determine if applicable; clear any mortgage related deficiencies withinspecified time period
Examine property status reports and property insurance policies for accuracy in documents and propercoverage
Maintain contact with lawyers, settlement agents and real estate brokers regarding the status of closingpackage
Monitor mortgage loan process and ensure compliance with Federal laws, as well as, Navy Federal, NCUA
and secondary market practices, guidelines and regulations
Prepare fully executed mortgage file for post-closing
Provide closing agent with information for title binder and specifics about documents and conditionsrequired for closing
Review preliminary and final closing package including HUD-1 or closing disclosure for RESPA compliance
Review property surveys for unacceptable or uninsurable encroachments or violations
Schedule settlement with closing agent, member, seller and realtor
Verify completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages
Closing equity loans, closer confirms how title will be held, review, and confirm escrow information.
Closing equity loans, closer will provide closing disclosure, obtain acknowledgement from the member asneeded, and maintain member contact once assigned the loan
Closing equity loans, closer will maintain contact with the members and notaries regarding the status of
scheduled closings, notary information, and closing packages
Closing equity loans, prepare payoff checks for payment and starter checks
Perform other duties as assigned

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.88 - $19.88/hr.
