Location Description
The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 200+ hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.
Responsibilities
Shipping Operations Lead
Pay Rate: $35.90 per hour
This opening is for our C Shift which works the following schedule:
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and every other Friday 6:00am-6:00pm
This schedule comes with a shift premium, which is $1.00 per hour
Responsibilities
The Shipping Operations Lead will coordinate the activities of warehouse employees on shift ensuring that materials / ingredients are received and that products are shipped in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner to satisfy customer needs. Practicing under Good Manufacturing Practices and Regulatory Food Safety Program.
In the Shipping Operations Lead role, you will:
Coordinate warehouse activities on a shift basis to ensure optimum utilization of warehouse resources and obtain maximum production efficiency, quality and safety to provide for safe, timely, accurate and cost-effective distribution of product to customers
Provide feedback and direction for improved performance and work team development
Assist with and participate in warehouse training programs and on-the-job training to provide more proficient operations
Ensure consistency across all shifts by maintaining adherence to procedures and best practices
Assist in the direction and coordination of continuous improvement projects in the warehouse
Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety
Qualifications
The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:
Possess a high school diploma or a GED
Previous manufacturing, warehouse or distribution experience is required
Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred
Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed
Ability to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions
Good communication skills, including the proven ability to give and receive feedback
Proven ability to provide leadership and prioritization in designated area
Physical job demands to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
