Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience on user-focused product writing including work in hardware, software, digital agency, or other relevant product areas.
5 years of experience in people or team management, including coaching, performance management, and continued development.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience developing information architecture for complex product suites.
Experience working on non-standard platforms with emerging interaction modalities such as voice-driven or platform.
Ability to care deeply about user journeys and details of experience flows that can span across modalities (from voice only to visual only).
About the job
We're hiring a Senior Manager to lead the content design team. This role requires high taste, creativity, and the ability to uncover top user needs and pain points. The role also requires excellent writing skills and high judgement in order to define what good quality looks like.
As the Content Design lead, you'll play a critical role in building new experiences for the Gemini app that are both helpful and delightful for global Gemini users. You'll operate as a strategic partner across the Gemini team, collaborating cross-functionally with product designers, product managers, engineers, UX researchers, data scientists, and marketers. Together, you'll ideate, design, and implement solutions that not only enhance the user journey but also drive key growth metrics.
A core aspect of this role involves becoming an expert in our users' needs. This means gaining a profound understanding of various user behaviors, preferences, and pain points across various geographies, platforms (web, mobile, etc.), and audience segments. You'll leverage this expertise to inform your design decisions and ensure our solutions are truly user-centric.Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity's most transformative inventions. Responsibilities
Manage and coach a team of AI-native content designers, blending creative problem-solving, excellent writing craft, strong leadership, and a proven ability to translate user needs into design solutions that bring clarity and delight to Gemini's global user base.
Bring clarity to ambiguous product problems and shape them into innovative experiences that drive feature discovery and engagement within the Gemini App.
Elevate content design craft and advocate user-centered design principles throughout the product development life-cycle.
Evolve and execute on our goal for content design and UX writing in a multi-modal world, including leveraging AI to scale content design guidelines, systems, and frameworks.
