The Louisiana Department of Treasury has one Administrative Program Specialist A vacancy located in the Unclaimed Property Division. This position is responsible for assisting in the enforcement of the unclaimed property statutes by coordinating and assigning compliance examinations performed by third-party audit firms and managing ongoing examinations.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Manages unclaimed property audits conducted by third-party contingency fee based audit firms.
Presents potential candidates for Treasurer for approval
Composes and mails notice of examination letters to holders selected for audit.
Works with audit firms when necessary to address compliance questions.
Confers with District Attorney and Executive Counsel when necessary.
Reviews and reconciles completed audit reports.
Creates and maintains a database of holders under audit.
Reviews incoming unclaimed property reports submitted by holders.
Performs special projects as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: These vacancies may be filled as either Probational or Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants), Promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees), or by Detail to Special Duty or Classified Temporary Appointment.
The positions may require the selected applicant(s) to serve a minimum probationary period of twelve (12) months. Current permanent status classified employees may be required to accept a probational appointment in lieu of promotion if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that these positions may be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available. Additional vacancies may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of the closing date.
