Enterprise Architecture is an organization within the Enterprise Technology Services organization at American Express and it is a key enabler of the company's technology strategy. The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:
Architecture as Code: This pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise.
Architecture as Design: This pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support.
Governance: This pillar is responsible for defining technical standards and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance.
Colleague Enablement: This pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous evolution of Foundational technologies for Enterprise Testing Platform and toolsets, ensuring security, scalability, performance, and reliability for a large enterprise user base
Own the vision and execution of Test Data Management strategies, advancing Test Data as a Service to improve quality, scalability, and governance across engineering teams, and implement across Private cloud, Mainframes and Public Cloud (GCP, AWS)
Drive the Enterprise Testing Strategy including design and architecture of technical implementation of SDLC Quality Controls
Leads, mentors, and coaches Senior Software Engineers and teams, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous professional growth, and knowledge sharing within the software engineering community
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement talent acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent
Directs and oversees the successful development, deployment, support, and monitoring of software across various environments
Leads multiple software product development teams to realize the company's technology vision and strategy in a scalable, iterative environment
Drives innovation and experimentation to deliver software solutions that meet or exceed customer and partner expectations
Shares technology domain expertise with architects and specialists across multiple organizations to enhance technical solutions
Ensures frictionless automated delivery processes and empowers teams to succeed at scale
Collaborates with business and technology partners to motivate change and execute product roadmaps
Collaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases
Knowledge of scalable platform architecture, enterprise documentation or portal platforms, and metadata or enterprise data modeling concepts
Knowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)
Knowledge of public cloud architectures and best practices (GCP, Azure, and AWS)
Qualifications
5+ years' experience in Test Data Management, including data provisioning, masking, synthetic data generation, self-service capabilities, and data lifecycle management using industry or custom solutions for distributed, cloud and mainframe technologies.
Proven expertise in architecting and delivering complex, distributed systems across on-premises and public cloud environments, leveraging diverse data platforms (SQL and NoSQL)
Proven experience defining and executing enterprise-wide testing strategies for large-scale, distributed platforms and Top programs
Experience driving quality engineering transformation, including adoption of shift-left testing and continuous testing practices
Strong experience in SDLC testing strategies, including test automation and end-to-end test management
Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, complex enterprise initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders
Experience owning and operating a critical, high-visibility platform or product, delivering scalable, user-centric solutions for enterprise audiences
Experience in leading and managing software engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship
Experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive software strategy and innovation
