Summary About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply & Services Division located at Fort Hood, TX. Responsibilities Serve as the Government Accountable Officer for Ammunition Supply Point services which include receipt, storage, issue, shipment and accountability for the installation's Class V supplies (ammunition, explosives, missiles/rockets and residue.) Manage and account for the assigned ammunition, associated materiel, and Army Support Activity Stock Record Account records. Ensure all munitions stocks (including related components and packing materials/residue generated during the consumption of munitions) are properly accounted for and maintained. Monitor Ammunition Supply Point personnel to ensure forecasted training ammunition, munitions, and operational loads are requisitioned, received, stored, issued, retrograded, and processed. Approve or disapprove issue of ammunition; and certify residue is explosive free and determine destination. Determine resource requirements (financial and manpower) and materials necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules. Analyze work plans and monitor the status of their work in relation to the overall schedule requirements, including unanticipated or emergency requirements. Maintain 100% adherence to Army physical security regulations, safeguarding all Class V munitions and associated materiel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
