Quality Inspector

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour

Shift: First Shift - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm - Monday through Friday

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems as well as supporting continuous improvement across our production process.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, standards, and SOPs for inspecting, testing, and evaluating materials and finished products to guarantee compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Testing & Evaluation: Conduct routine and non-routine analyses and inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, ensuring all items strictly adhere to requirements and specifications.

Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document test procedures, results, and findings - including stability and formulation studies - and prepare clear investigation reports and summaries of abnormalities.

Recommendation & Process Improvement: Recommend corrective actions and develop or update inspection and testing methodologies as needed to ensure consistent product quality.

Technical Support: Provide technical support to quality assurance and engineering departments, including performing inspections at different stages of production and guiding the resolution of quality issues.

Daily Activities & Examples

Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor requirements, and perform measurements using fractions, decimals, trigonometry, and various measurement tools.

Operate mechanical and electrical instruments such as magnifiers, calipers, micrometers, snap gauges, and specialized fixtures; ensure equipment calibration is up to standard.

Develop alternative quality assurance methods and identify potential process variables.

Conduct "first-piece" inspections and authorize the start of production.

Sort and mark defective materials for repair, sometimes requiring close tolerance measurement and keen judgement.
