Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering and R&D team. This role involves supporting product development efforts from concept through production release. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on design engineering, CAD ownership, proto@type support, and manage engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

Participate in new product development from concept through production release.

Conduct engineering calculations and design analysis.

Engage in design reviews and drawing review processes.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing and tooling teams.

Manage revision control and product release processes.

Utilize PDM systems for release management and engineering documentation.

Support proto@type development and testing activities.

Create production-ready drawings and documentation.

Work collaboratively across engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Operate within timeline-driven project environments.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

5+ years of mechanical design experience.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.

Experience in new product development.

Experience in engineering calculations and design analysis.

Familiarity with PDM and 3DX systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in plastics manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Product-focused engineering experience.

Ability to influence design standards and product development processes.

Comfortable moving between concept development, engineering calculations, and project execution.

Work Environment

The role is set in an engineering and R&D environment, featuring cross-functional collaboration. It combines product development, CAD, and project execution tasks. The position offers onsite access to engineering leadership in a fast-paced development and support setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Old Saybrook, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $44.00/hr.
