Job Description
Join a large-scale data center construction project in Ridgeville, SC as a Construction General Labor / Construction Technician. In this role, you support a self-performing construction team with a wide range of tasks, including basic carpentry, material handling, site cleanup, and general mechanical duties. You work across a large jobsite, assist field leads, and help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment while adapting to changing needs on site.
Responsibilities
Perform general labor duties across a large, active construction site to support daily project operations.
Assist with basic carpentry tasks, including framing and other simple construction activities as directed.
Set up and remove temporary barriers, erect tents, and support other temporary structures as needed.
Transport materials safely and efficiently to designated areas using appropriate methods and tools.
Clean and maintain the jobsite by sweeping, removing debris, and performing general site housekeeping.
Support basic mechanical and construction-related tasks as assigned by supervisors or leads.
Use hand and power tools safely and correctly for assigned tasks, following all safety guidelines.
Read and use a tape measure accurately to support carpentry and other measurement-based tasks.
Assist leads and supervisors by following instructions, providing labor support, and helping complete tasks on schedule.
Perform digging, pressure washing, and other physical tasks required to maintain and prepare work areas.
Follow all site safety rules and procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
Demonstrate professionalism on a high-profile site by maintaining a respectful attitude and representing the project team positively.
Adapt to changing priorities and take on a variety of tasks as needed to support project progress.
Essential Skills
Experience in general labor or construction environments.
Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for general construction tasks.
Ability to use power tools in accordance with safety guidelines and site procedures.
Basic carpentry skills, including familiarity with framing and simple construction tasks.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measurements and layout.
Capability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, digging, sweeping, and material transport.
Ability to assist leads and supervisors by following detailed verbal instructions and directions.
Comfort working on a large construction site alongside general contractors and subcontractors.
Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
Reliability and punctuality to support a Monday-Friday schedule with 10-hour workdays and occasional Saturdays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience on large construction projects or industrial sites is preferred.
Familiarity with basic framing and carpentry techniques is an advantage.
Experience using pressure washing equipment on construction sites is beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with general contractors and subcontractors.
Strong commitment to safety and professionalism on a high-profile project.
Flexibility to perform a wide variety of tasks and adjust to changing site needs.

Work Environment

The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday with 10-hour days, and some Saturdays may be required based on project needs. The work involves outdoor conditions, exposure to varying weather, and frequent use of hand and power tools, as well as equipment for tasks such as pressure washing and material transport. Professionalism is essential at all times, as the site and its workforce represent a high-profile customer and a major construction effort.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
