Finance & Accounting Analyst (Remote in CA)

Maximus is looking for a remote Finance & Accounting Associate Analyst to support key financial operations and reporting activities for the business.

This role is responsible for assisting with financial reporting, forecasting, billing, reconciliations, expense tracking, and month-end finance processes while partnering with Corporate Finance, Project Management, and other cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working with financial data in a deadline-driven environment.

California State residency is required for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for producing accurate project financial reporting and submit on a monthly basis to Corporate Finance. - Track financial status by monitoring variances from forecasts. - Organize monthly Finance Calendar activities. - Prepare monthly accruals for submission to corporate finance. - Review time sheet corrections for accuracy and submit to Corporate Finance for approval and processing. - Monitor fulfillment expenses against forecast assumptions. - Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, and provide appropriate codes and monitor payment status. - Perform research and provide additional clarifications. - Publish monthly Project Financial Dashboard and Labor Reports to Project Management.

Organize monthly Finance Calendar activities.

Prepare monthly accruals for submission to corporate finance.

Create client billings and assist admin team in monthly distribution.

Monitor fulfillment expenses against forecast assumptions.

Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy and provide appropriate codes and monitor payment status.

Perform research and provide additional clarifications.

Publish monthly Project Financial Dashboard and Labor Reports to Project Management.

Perform monthly billing and revenue reconciliations.

Submit Contract Information Forms (CIFs) based on executed agreements and/or amendments.

Minimum Requirements

'- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 0-3 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Program Specific Requirements:

California residency is required

Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel)

Financial auditing experience

Understanding of cost reimbursable contracts and process of contract closeouts.

Strong organizational skills to manage overall project tracking and progress.

Data entry experience

Self-motivated and strong communication skills.

Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.

Home Office Requirements:

Private and Secure workspace from home

Access to Wi-Fi, LAN (wired connection/ethernet) or both at home

Internet provider that offers enough speed for multiple users without latency or lag? (i.e. housemate also WFH, kids playing video games or streaming shows, etc.)

Internet download speed of 25mbps single/50mbps shared and 5mbps (10 preferred) upload or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)
