COSTING AGENT

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for overseeing product costing, life cycle cost analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Incumbent will have the ability to plan, study, and collect data to determine product cost of projects through market research and internal resources. Have the ability to develop business case justification, analyze data collected and analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost. Have the ability to estimate new and proposed product costs and provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

KEY JOB ELEMENTS

Review incoming customer RFP documents to formulate a requirements matrix Plan, study, and collect data to determine product cost of projects through market research and internal resources. Develop business case justification, analyze data collected and analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on cost. Estimate new and proposed product costs and provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Ability to develop time phased cost proposals compliant with FAR costing standards. Prepare and present cost reports and pricing models to upper management. Support customer review and fact-finding of cost proposals; including direct material, labor, indirect rates; such as Overhead, production allowances, administrative charges, etc. Partner with engineering, procurement, manufacturing and accounting on development and analysis of cost standards. Drive cost out initiatives and set goals based on data to working group that could encompass multiple departments within the organization. Accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Engineering and/or Accounting, Business or Finance 3-5 years experience in aerospace manufacturing cost accounting Training in data collection and analysis techniques using modern IT tools Microsoft Office skills experience required - strong computer skills are required Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD data.

US Government contracts/ITAR requirements apply, limiting this position to US Person requirements.

You must be able to provide valid documentation to prove US citizenship or an unexpired Permanent Resident Card. Only regional candidates who meet this criterion will be considered. Competitive starting wages commensurate with experience and skill levels.
