Job Summary
The Director, Marketing serves as the strategic marketing leader for an assigned region(s), partnering closely with regional leadership teams to identify growth opportunities, address business challenges, and develop integrated strategies that advance regional priorities. This role leads regional market assessments, translates insights into strategic roadmaps, and brings together cross-functional teams across marketing, communications, physician relations, digital, and consumer experience to deliver coordinated solutions. The Director provides expertise in both consumer and physician marketing, ensuring alignment between regional priorities, growth initiatives, and marketing investments. This individual is a trusted advisor, skilled at influencing without authority, building strong partnerships, and leading teams to achieve measurable outcomes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling team members; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Functions
Serves as the primary marketing advisor to regional leadership teams, leading market assessments, identifying growth opportunities, and aligning cross-functional teams around integrated strategies and roadmaps that drive business results.
Builds and manages relationships with leaders across the organization and colleagues across the department. Projects a spirit of collaboration and joint ownership of business objectives and growth goals.
Strives for clarity, prioritization and simplification. Successfully navigates through periods of change and ambiguity.
Leverages a data-driven analytical approach to assess market trends, competitor efforts and service line / business unit advancements to create and recommend comprehensive marketing plans that feature innovative strategies and initiatives. Models this approach for team members and colleagues.
Leads and coaches a regional marketing team in the development of marketing campaigns with clearly defined key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, track, report and refine the success of marketing efforts.
Nurtures the growth and development of teams and team members. Helps to attract and retain high-performing talent. Holds team members accountable to high standards of performance & execution.
Helps team members to set and track budgets for service line / business unit initiatives. Ensures deadlines are met by removing barriers, escalating issues and encouraging creative problem solving.
Engages in continuous learning to maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary as an influencer within the department, organization and among industry peers.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree Major in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising, business, or another closely related field.
Preferred Master's Degree MBA or other advanced degree related to marketing or communications.
12 years of relevant experience in managing marketing programs and cross-functional teams in a large, matrixed organization with a demonstrated ability to collaboratively drive results. Required
5 years of relevant experience 5 years of managerial experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage budgets. Required
