Job Description
To strengthen Oracle's position as a leader in the Retail Merchandising market, we are looking for an experienced Solution Engineer specializing in this area. In this role, you will support the Retail industry sales team in North America by formulating and leading presales functional activities to prospective clients, customers and partners. These activities include identifying key issues the retailer needs to address, building relationships with key individuals, delivering business-process and value-based presentations and software demonstrations that clearly show the value that Oracle can deliver to the retailer. This role is key to help drive success of the Oracle Retail business across North America. Must have extensive Retail experience, and must have experience selling Retail Merchandising applications, or simliar. This is not an entry-level role.

Responsibilities
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be an acknowledged expert in core Merchandising and ideally across the key sectors of grocery, hardlines and fashion. Key focus areas are Master Data Mgmt, Perpetual Inventory Mgmt, Purchasing, Cost and Deals Mgmt, Invoice Matching, Lifecycle Pricing, Allocation and Replenishment, Sales Audit, Stock Ledger, Financials as well as practical experience/knowledge around Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Knowledge of Assortment Planning, Demand Planning, Store Ops, Warehouse Mgmt, and broader ERP is also helpful, but not mandatory.
Be able to present Retail industry trends and best practices as well as present and demonstrate core Merchandising processes, capabilities and value in a compelling way.
Support the sales process and lead all functional aspects as a business and solution expert.
Be able to convince others (often at a senior level) through presentations, relationship building, demonstrations and written communication of the value Oracle can bring in supporting core Merchandising processes and addressing the key business pains of the retailer.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in responding to RFIs, RFPs, needs analysis, positioning, etc.
Ability to work on large or complex sales opportunities requiring creative and complex solutions.
Maintain in depth and up to date knowledge of competitors in the Retail Merchandising market.
Have a strong team spirit, and be willing to work in cross-functional teams, often virtually.
Actively participate in organizational skill exchanges and transfer expertise to others.
CANDIDATE PROFILE - ESSENTIAL
Passion for winning!
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience in the Retail industry, with extensive knowledge in the core areas of master data, procurement, pricing, inventory management, financials; AND Minimum 3 years in a software solution engineering role-we are not looking for entry-level in this role
Experience working with specialised retail Merchandising solutions
Outstanding presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Proven team player
Flexible & easily adapts to change
Strong network-building skills internally and externally
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work remotely without the need for frequent supervision.
Ability to occasionally travel to client site 25-50%

US: Hiring Range in USD from $45.43 to $89.90 per hour; from: $94,500 to $187,000 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 65/35 - 80/20.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
