The Admissions department is looking for a full-time Admissions Representative II to join their team. In this role, you will help deliver a student-friendly experience that helps learners identify their educational goals and provides them with the tools to be successful.
This advanced role builds on our Admissions Representative I position, focusing on expanded recruitment and outreach to various student groups-including traditional, adult, returning, and underrepresented learners. In this position, you will be providing high-level recruitment support through territory management, adult student outreach, community-based organization partnerships, business and industry connections, recruitment event support, CRM utilization, and individualized student follow-up. Additionally, you will be collaborating with departments across campus to support student recruitment, enrollment, and a high-level student service experience.

Essential Job Functions
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Implements best practices in recruiting prospective students in assigned territories focused on traditional-aged students, adult students, and other assigned recruitment populations.
Coordinates and facilitates individual appointments through virtual and in-person opportunities including campus tours, faculty advisor meetings, and collaboration with college athletics.
Coordinates and schedules on-campus and virtual prospective adult student visits, including group visit events, individual student visits, and adult-focused recruitment appointments.
Provides accurate academic and non-credit program information, admission requirements, as well as information on financial aid, scholarships, and other sources of funding to prospective students.
Verifies and provides follow-up to students regarding their application status, admissions inquiries, and requirements via on-site visits, phone, text, and email.
Communicates with prospective adult students by phone, text, email, social media, newsletters, and other electronic media.
Assists in small and large group admissions presentations and activities, including presenting to prospective student campus group visits.
Assists and participates in the coordination of virtual and face-to-face Experience Hawkeye Visit Days, departmental events, and other college events.
Organizes high school and college fair visits at select state and regional school systems.
Promotes the College and provides resources regarding opportunities at Hawkeye at community agencies & organizations, marketing activities, civic events, community-based organization meetings, business and industry meetings, and other off-campus outreach events.
Utilizes Recruit CRM to contact, track, and record interactions with prospective students.
Creates and distributes informational materials, including website updates and registration session handouts/slideshows.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with school counselors, teachers, community outreach partners, community-based organizations, business partners, and other external stakeholders.
Assists with developing and implementing a yearly adult recruitment plan that supports adult student admissions goals and aligns with college recruitment priorities.
Assists with analyzing current adult admissions and recruiting activities to determine effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Supports adult students in understanding admissions steps, program options, funding resources, scheduling considerations, and next steps toward enrollment.
Works a flexible schedule that may include evening availability to better serve adult students, community partners, and off-campus outreach events.
Maintains a general working knowledge of all educational programs of the College, including credit programs, non-credit options, short-term training, transfer pathways, and student support services relevant to adult learners.
Serves as a resource and consultant for adult-focused marketing initiatives in partnership with Marketing and other college stakeholders.
Actively recruits adult students through phone calls, email, text, community outreach, CBO partnerships, business engagement, and other media.
Manages and supports adult student communications through appropriate electronic media, CRM campaigns, newsletters, and other outreach tools.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with prospective adult students, outreach and service organizations, community-based organizations (CBOs), businesses, and professional staff.
Works a flexible schedule that may include evening availability to better serve adult students, community partners, and off-campus outreach events.
Participates in internal and external committees as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Unless otherwise approved under Hawkeye's remote work policy, regular on-campus and/or onsite attendance is considered an essential function of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in Communications, Business, Education, or related field and two (2) years of experience in college recruitment, student services, admissions, or a combination of education and related work experience to total four (4) years.
Must possess a current driver's license valid in the State of Iowa and a driving record insurable by the College's insurer.
Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write professional reports.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, through presentations and one-on-one meetings with students and parents.
Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed.
Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and high volume of work with deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to travel to and from appointments.
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong effective relationships with all customers of the college, including students, counselors, guests, faculty, and professional staff.
Working knowledge of student records systems.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and video conferencing technology.
Demonstrated ability to execute organization and department policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide array of people such as faculty, staff, students, and the general public in a professional and personable manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, communications, student affairs, business, social sciences, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in student recruitment, territory management, sales, adult student recruitment, community engagement, or other relevant work.
Experience collaborating with campus, community-focused, business, and/or community-based organization partners.
Experience working with adult students, returning students, or students balancing work, family, and educational responsibilities.
Working Conditions
Anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with frequent evening and weekend hours based on business needs and events.
Work is performed either in or a combination of an office and/or classroom setting using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Sit, stand, bend, lift and move frequently during working hours. During course of day, interact with students, faculty and staff in person, by telephone and computers.
Employment Status
Full-time, hourly position with comprehensive or competitive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance, a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expenses; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; tuition reimbursement / tuition remission; and a choice of retirement programs-IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution).
Wages will be commensurate with the candidate's education, experience and internal equity.
The wage range for this position begins at $21.72/hr (approximately $45,170 annually working full-time).
