Job Title: Tire Technician Job Description
As a Tire Technician, you assemble, mount, and service wheels and tires while using a variety of tools and equipment in a fast-paced tire shop environment. You ensure accurate and efficient work, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and support overall shop operations by performing additional tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Preassemble and organize wheels and tires in preparation for mounting.
Read and understand wheel and tire requests from customers to ensure accurate service.
Mount wheels and tires of various sizes accurately and efficiently.
Use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, air wrenches, and other essential equipment safely and correctly.
Inspect wheels and tires during assembly and mounting to help identify obvious issues or defects.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more repeatedly throughout the day.
Perform general labor tasks related to tire and wheel service as needed.
Complete additional tasks as assigned to support overall shop operations.
Essential Skills
Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
Basic experience using hand tools and power tools in a mechanical or automotive setting.
Familiarity with tire tools, alignment machines, and air tools such as air wrenches.
General labor experience in a physically demanding environment.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with automotive components such as wheels, tires, and brakes.
Ability to read and understand customer wheel and tire requests and follow instructions accurately.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate mounting and organization of wheels and tires.
Willingness to work on your feet all day in a shop environment.
Ideal candidate has 6+ months of automotive experience.
Entry-level candidates are welcome and can be trained, with compensation aligned to experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a tire shop or automotive service environment.
Experience performing basic brake or mechanical work.
Comfort working with air tools and other shop equipment.
Strong work ethic and reliability in a hands-on, physical role.
Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced automotive responsibilities.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a busy shop setting.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
