As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you'll play a critical role in turning engineering concepts into functional hardware by building proto@types, supporting testing activities, operating advanced fabrication equipment, and helping engineers rapidly iterate on new product designs.

What You'll Do
Build and assemble mechanical and electromechanical proto@types for product development programs.
Fabricate parts, fixtures, and test equipment using manual shop tools and fabrication equipment.
Operate and maintain mills, lathes, drill presses, band saws, and other machine shop equipment.
Support engineering testing by building fixtures, preparing test setups, and assisting with experimentation.
Operate FDM, SLA, and other additive manufacturing systems to produce proto@type components.
Prepare 3D print files, select materials, execute print jobs, and perform post-processing activities.
Troubleshoot proto@type builds, identify issues, and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
Maintain shop organization, tooling, equipment, and inventory to support efficient product development.
Assist engineers with rapid prototyping, design iterations, and quick-turn hardware solutions.
Maintain build records, bills of materials (BOMs), and other engineering documentation.
Support equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and lab organization initiatives.
Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to meet project deadlines and technical requirements.
Contribute ideas and improvements that enhance shop capabilities, workflows, and prototyping efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a proto@type shop, R&D environment, manufacturing environment, or machine shop.
Experience operating manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, drill presses, and similar equipment.
Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, or comparable additive manufacturing platforms.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting medical device development or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with SolidWorks, Creo, or other CAD software.
Understanding of GD&T and mechanical tolerancing principles.
Experience supporting design verification (DV) builds and engineering test activities.
Experience working with both mechanical and basic electrical assemblies.
Knowledge of plastics, metals, elastomers, and common prototyping materials.
Experience maintaining machine shops, proto@type labs, or maker spaces.
Passion for hands-on building, prototyping, and continuous improvement.

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
