Job Title: Electrical Trainee Job Description
As an Electrical Trainee, you support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems on construction sites. You work closely with experienced electricians to read blueprints and electrical schematics, install conduit and wiring, and ensure all work complies with electrical codes and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, eager to learn, and committed to building a strong foundation in the electrical trade.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to understand project requirements and layout of electrical systems.
Install various @types of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit, according to specifications and code requirements.
Pull, route, and terminate electrical wire and cable in a safe and organized manner.
Install electrical panels, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures under the guidance of experienced electricians.
Apply basic electrical theory to assist with troubleshooting and resolving routine electrical issues.
Use hand and power tools safely and correctly for cutting, bending, fastening, and assembling electrical components.
Take accurate measurements and assist with layout of electrical runs and equipment placement on construction sites.
Follow NEC (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes in all assigned tasks to support compliant installations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, materials, and equipment responsibly.
Adhere to safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment and awareness of site hazards.
Collaborate effectively with team members, communicate progress and issues, and support a cooperative work environment.
Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within project schedules and demonstrate consistent reliability and punctuality.
Participate in safety awareness practices, leveraging OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training to promote a safe construction site.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

Skill in pulling, routing, and terminating electrical wire.
Competence in installing panels, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.
Basic understanding of electrical theory and fundamental troubleshooting methods.
Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and applicable local electrical codes.
Ability to take accurate measurements and assist with precise electrical layouts.
Capability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively in a construction environment.
Strong awareness of construction site safety practices.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety awareness training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in electrical or construction environments is beneficial but not required.

Comfort working from blueprints and technical drawings in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
This role is primarily based on active construction sites, where you work with electrical panels, conduit systems, wiring, and lighting installations. You regularly use hand and power tools and follow established safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines and electrical code requirements. Work may involve standing for extended periods, working in various weather conditions, and navigating typical construction site terrain. Attire typically includes appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and sturdy footwear to ensure safety and compliance with site standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
