This role offers a primarily remote opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who is local enough to attend site visits as needed. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop electrical engineering design solutions that align with the @context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of building projects. Using your deep understanding of building engineering systems, materials, codes, and construction technologies, you will translate design intent into efficient, constructible, and code-compliant technical solutions through all phases of the project.
Responsibilities
Design components of overall building electrical systems, integrating architectural design requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and jurisdictional regulations.
Evaluate engineering design requirements and produce detailed drawings to support building construction projects.
Perform core engineering activities, including electrical calculations, code research, material and building systems research, layout of electrical components, and calculation of program and building areas.
Assess site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and conduct site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions.
Synthesize, interpret, and coordinate technical information to develop clear and accurate engineering specifications for inclusion in Project Manuals.
Review project deliverables, including products, services, and shop drawings, to verify adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and internal quality control standards.
Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to coordinate electrical systems through all project phases, from concept design to construction administration.
Work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team, managing your own tasks and timelines while contributing to a collaborative project environment.
Participate in both in-house and out-of-house project work, adapting to different project teams and locations across a national practice.
Essential Skills

Proven experience designing and delivering electrical engineering building systems across multiple building @types.
Strong proficiency with engineering software tools, including AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Experience using electrical engineering systems design software to develop and document building electrical systems.
Solid engineering knowledge related to building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and related infrastructure for various building @types.
Familiarity with architectural design concepts and the ability to integrate electrical systems seamlessly with architectural intent.
Strong working knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and jurisdictional regulations relevant to building electrical systems.
Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations, code research, and building area calculations accurately and efficiently.
Capability to interpret and produce technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation with a high level of precision.
Strong coordination skills to work effectively with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders throughout all project phases.
Ability to work independently with high expectations for self-management and accountability.
Qualifications
Experience working on projects across multiple regions or jurisdictions.
Experience in multidisciplinary design environments involving architecture, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
Comfort working on both new construction and existing building projects, including field reviews and site documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing specifications, reports, and coordination documentation.
