Job Title: Material Handler - Refrigerated and Freezer Warehouse (1st Shift) Job Description
This role focuses on accurately picking, packing, labeling, and shipping products in a climate-controlled warehouse that includes refrigerated and freezer areas. You will use an RF scan gun to process orders, work on a packing line, and help ensure that products are handled correctly and shipped on time. The position requires comfort working in cold environments and the ability to rotate between different areas of the facility as needed.
Responsibilities
Pick, pack, and ship products accurately in refrigerated and freezer conditions.
Use an RF scan gun to scan, track, and verify products throughout the picking and packing process.
Pack orders by placing items into boxes, adding required materials, and preparing them for shipment.
Print and apply labels to boxes and packages to ensure correct identification and routing.
Tape and seal boxes securely and push them down the line for the next stage of processing.
Double-check orders to confirm accuracy of items, quantities, and labels before shipment.
Perform general warehouse labor tasks such as organizing, staging, and moving product as needed.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading as required.
Rotate through different areas of the facility, including refrigerated and freezer zones, based on operational needs.
Follow safety and handling procedures appropriate for cold room and freezer environments.
Essential Skills
Ability to work comfortably in refrigerated and freezer environments, including a cold room and short periods in a freezer.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packing, picking, labeling, and shipping orders.
Proficiency using an RF scan gun or RF scanner in a warehouse or similar setting.
Previous experience working in a cooler or freezer environment.
Ability to perform general labor and warehouse associate tasks such as order picking, packing boxes, and moving product.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling, and double-checking of orders.
Reliability and flexibility to rotate between different work areas as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience as a warehouse associate, packing associate, or in shipping and receiving roles.
Comfort working in climate-controlled facilities that include both refrigerated and freezer zones.
Familiarity with order picking, packing orders, printing labels, and preparing shipments.
Ability to work a consistent 1st shift schedule, including early morning start times and weekend work as required.

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift position with a schedule of Sunday 4:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The entire facility is climate controlled, with specific areas designated as cold rooms and freezers. Candidates will rotate throughout the facility and work in whichever area is needed, including a freezer picking area maintained at approximately -10°C to -20°C and a refrigerated picking area maintained at approximately 2°C to 8°C. Work involves standing, moving along packing lines, and handling boxes without heavy lifting, in a structured warehouse environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.85 - $19.85/hr.
